What is testicular cancer, which footballer Sébastien Haller is battling

Footballer Sébastien Haller, 28, has left Dortmund training camp due to a testicular tumour. The tumor was found during a medical examination and they returned to Germany for further tests and Haller complained of feeling unwell at the Swiss training camp. Sébastien Haller left his former club Ajax and joined BVB in July, scoring 11 goals in eight matches, performing notably well in the Champions League. Tumors can be benign and may not always diagnose cancer. Haller fell ill during pre-season training at his new club, after medical examinations confirmed his cancer diagnosis. During intensive medical examinations, a tumor was finally detected in his testicle.

What is testicular cancer

Testicular cancer occurs in the testicles or testicles which are located in the scrotum. It helps in producing male sex hormones and sperm, which help in reproduction. According to the American Cancer Society (ACS), cancer in the testis begins when cells begin to grow abnormally. It can affect any part of the body, including the testicles.

Additionally, cancer of the testicles can cause lumps in either of the testicles, causing them to enlarge. This can cause heaviness in the scrotum, mild pain in the abdomen and back. And there may also be pain in the back.

Early prevention of testicular cancer is important

There is no way to prevent testicular cancer. Doctors recommend getting it checked regularly and self-testing to detect it at an early stage. The best way to diagnose testicular cancer early is to visit a health care professional and have them examine your testicles as part of your regular physical exam.
