Renal function tests normal values:

The function and health of the kidneys are evaluated using a collection of tests called renal function tests. Depending on the specific laboratory and the reference range they employ, the normal values for renal function tests can vary slightly. I can, however, provide you some broad normal values for some frequently used renal function tests. Please be aware that these numbers may somewhat vary and are only estimates:

1. Blood Urea Nitrogen (BUN):

Normal range: 7 to 20 mg/dL (2.5 to 7.1 mmol/L)

2. Serum Creatinine:

Normal range: 0.6 to 1.3 mg/dL (53 to 115 µmol/L) for adult males

Normal range: 0.5 to 1.1 mg/dL (44 to 97 µmol/L) for adult females

3. Glomerular Filtration Rate (GFR):

Normal GFR is typically above 90 mL/min/1.73m²

4. Serum Electrolytes:

Sodium (Na+): 135 to 145 mEq/L

Potassium (K+): 3.5 to 5.0 mEq/L

Chloride (Cl-): 98 to 106 mEq/L

Bicarbonate (HCO3-): 22 to 28 mEq/L

It's crucial to remember that these values can change depending on elements like age, gender, muscle mass, and underlying medical issues. It's best to speak with a healthcare practitioner who can interpret the findings of your particular tests because laboratory reference ranges can vary slightly.
