Cook Food Properly: Cook all meats and seafood to a safe internal temperature to kill harmful bacteria. Avoid consuming raw or undercooked meat, seafood, or eggs.

 

Wash Fruits and Vegetables: Wash all fruits and vegetables thoroughly under running water before eating them. Peeling fruits and vegetables can provide an extra layer of protection.

 

Choose Safe Drinking Water: Drink bottled water or boil tap water for at least one minute before consuming it. Avoid contaminated water sources, such as streams or wells.

 

Limit Caffeine and Alcohol: Alcohol and caffeine both dehydrate the body and exacerbate the symptoms of diarrhoea. Avoid or limit these drinks, particularly if you're already having diarrhoea.

 

Get Vaccinated: The rotavirus vaccine is recommended for all infants and young children to protect them from severe rotavirus infections. Additionally, the COVID-19 vaccine can reduce your risk of developing COVID-19 and its associated symptoms, including diarrhea.

 

Maintain a Healthy Gut: A healthy gut microbiome plays a crucial role in preventing infections and maintaining digestive health. Consume a balanced diet rich in fiber, probiotics, and prebiotics to support gut health.
